Situated on a prominent sloping corner plot on the outskirts of Bristol, this project involved the replacement of a modest existing dwelling with a contemporary family home designed to make the most of its unique setting. One of the key challenges was the steeply sloping site.

 

Our design carefully stepped the new home into the hillside, allowing us to utilise the ground beneath the property and create substantial additional accommodation without increasing the overall height of the building. This approach enabled us to significantly increase the living space while remaining sensitive to the surrounding area and planning constraints.

 

The completed home features spacious modern living areas, high quality materials and carefully considered architectural detailing. By working with the site's natural topography, we were able to deliver a much larger and more impressive family home while maintaining a scale and presence similar to the original property.
